Pearl Jam - 2015
Blue Grass Music All Day

Jack and Sally Fisher led the tour to Dennis McDaniel's favorite venue.

Movies require QuickTime Player on Window machines.
The 30-second movies take a minute to download on my slow AT&T cable, and then I have to pause to let it play.
On my computer, the best browser is the Windows 10 Edge

Five As and five modern cars made the trip. Our pit stop occurred in Kempner, and it was a welcome relief.

In Kempner, we turned right, here.

Driving on back country roads, we saw and missed plenty
of rode kill: skunks, opossums, armadillos, red fox, and deer.
It took 19 turns to get there, but luckily it only took 13 to get back.

The A List

Our first stop was the library. Every room was floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall with books or tapes.
A couple of ladies where discussing trading a horse for a husband.
I'm sure it was a very good horse.

Outside there was a table full of free magazines about Texas, cars, combat, and hunting.
I don't make these things up.

Several members took several magazines. I should have taken more.

Another great menu

Lining up for lunch.

And the food was good.
Met James Lee, a Model T driver, who could talk for hours about cars.
He told me about a car show just up the road in Evant, TX.

Eugene Dyer restored this 1956 Chevrolet to original colors.
It is similar to the one he and I drove as teenagers.
We had two mutual friends who worked at the Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock.

265 cubic inch with a four-barrel carburetor.

His son's 31 Chevrolet with three deuces.
Later, about ten of the cars from Evant came to the Pearl Jam.

I didn't think that anything travelled slower than we travel.
One person glued down reflectors, and the next one removed the temporary reflector.

About 8 miles on the return trip, Ron Taylor's car quit.
Since it didn't look like a quick fix, Don Vickers towed the car into the shade.
He towed at about 35 mph for over a mile, but his car was starting to overheat.

Ron carries all the right equipment to include two lawn chairs for the passengers. Since the rotor didn't rotate, Ron and Don proceeded to change the timing gear. After the experience of last month's restoration clinic, the fully functional timing gear was quickly removed. After removing the distributor, the problem was still not determined, but it could be on the gear to the cam. We retrieved Dennis McDaniel and his pickup from the festival. He proceeded to tow Ron's car, but the right front bearing had disintegrated.
Time for the Copperas Cove wrecker.
